After the French Open and Wimbledon, brace yourself for another big event this year in the tennis division. The 2011 US Open Tennis Championships welcomes the world No. 1 and reigning Australian Open and Wimbledon champion Novak Djokovic, reigning US Open and French Open champion Rafael Nadal, and five-time US Open champion Roger Federer to lead the men’s singles.
The 2011 US Open will be played on August 29 – September 11, 2011 at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows, N.Y. Both the men’s and women’s US Open singles champions will earn $1.8 million with the ability to earn an additional $1 million in bonus prize money based on their performances in the Olympus US Open Series. The US Open Men’s Singles Championship is presented by Mercedes-Benz USA.
All participants are now ready with their official tournament outfits sponsored mostly by Nike. However, New Balance turned to official outfitter Polo Ralph Lauren for a secondary sponsorship for the on-court officialdom. The New Balance 851 that’s dressed up in white/navy colorway with rubber and mesh materials that showcases RL’s logo on the side will be the bureaucracy’s footwear. Neon green and orange are part of the shoe’s eye-catching features.
